Rescue Horses Receives Treatment

0

Rescue Horses Rihanna, Julia and GummiBear got a visit from the talented Osteopat Andy Schaff!

Our Horses also received therapy after their treatments with the amazing vet horse blanket BEMER.

For us it is very important that our clients will be treated with respect, and that includes their bodies too. As a thank you for what they have been given us humans money wise, we want them to have the last years as wonderful as possible.

Thank you Andy Schaff Pferdeosteotheraphie for your work, and support to our AWL Rescue Horses

Summer Greetings from our Rescue Horses

0

This summer has been truly hot here in southern Germany. I guess the three of our southern Italy horses felt like home with the similar heat from the Campanian Region.

Most important thing is that all four are enjoying life, I can assure you that. Every morning are they out on the fields, being walked in the forest, eating good nutrient food a couple of times a day. And not to forget their vitamins and medicines.

We could never do this without your support. And we surely need your help.

There are many more horses that are in need of help. They have worked hard for their owners, and are not useful anymore.

AWL is having a great “thank you” program where we want to give back, to the horse(s), as a thank you for what they have done for the humans; Success, education and maybe money and prestige.

We are also turning it around, Horses as our Teachers. In October are we going to have a workshop here in southern Germany, where the rescue horses are going to be our teachers. Do you dare to “hear” what they have to say?

More Turtles

This is PorkyPine, one of our new members in our Rescue Home in Germany.

Many exotic animals are getting sadly abandon, and it’s horrifying to see them laying in plastic buckets on top of each other.
The veterinarian is walking on his knees with abandon animals they are supposed to treat and not keeping them.

Sadly, the exotic animals don’t have any value (strangely)

PorkyPine came to us (with his male friend) last Friday. She is being treated for an infection and I give her shots daily for seven days.

Every day we get requests to rescue animals. Every day!!! However, we cannot keep it up without your help.

I literally am walking on my knees. It’s been a tough summer!

With your support, we can continue to rescue animals. Exotic Animals that never asked to be smuggled in, taken away their freedom.

Then to be mistreated and sick.

We are in desperate need of a BIG aquarium, a (letter) scale, big rocks, and money donations to be able to pay for medicines and veterinarian care.

Be part in PorkyPines and his friends’ rescue mission. Thank you!

When a Rat is Getting Sick

0

One morning our rescue rat Samantha started to walk in circles and tilting her head to the side. We rushed her to the veterinarian last Monday. The veterinarian told us that it could be a neurological problem.

Samantha got three shots;  for pain, vitamins and cortisone. We made a re-check appointment a couple of days later. However, if not better, come in right away.

Samantha became a little better but still, she fell when she tried to wash herself.

Friday came and we took Samantha with us to the appointment. We were nervous, still, she wasn’t herself. She hadn’t been eating, only drinking, –plus yogurt–. My favorite veterinarian Stephanie (Frau Spotl) greeted us when we walked into her clinic. She took Samantha and looked into her ears.

Bingo! Samantha got an ear infection!

Bacteria test was being made and sent away to the laboratory. Meanwhile, Samantha got antibiotic, pain medicine and protein food with her home.

It was amazing to see Samantha a couple of hours later, eating and feeling so much better. Her caretaker Olivia was most happy. We all had been scared to lose Samantha.

Why I like my veterinarian so much, some have asked me.

She listens, she teaches, she cares and she laughs. That’s for me is a Golden Keeper. Down in southern Italy, I had the same veterinarian, Dr. Damiani for four years before moving to Germany. His passion and teaching will I always carry with me.

That’s Amore!

The Horses Still Need Help

0

The transformation with our three rescue horses are a very fantastic gift back to follow, but we cannot end our help only because they look great on the outside.

They still need our help with healthy nutritional food, their medicines, and dental work. Veterinarian visits, and sometimes x-rays.

We are running out of funds and truly need your help.

Rihanna_examined

GummiBears Heart medicine cost 100 euro/month.

Blood tests to monitor how the medicines are working/helping

Vaccinations are 50 euro per horse/ six months (+-)

Farrier 60-80 euro per horse/8-12 weeks, since their hooves are still in bad shape.

Dentists are coming up this weekend, and that will be around 150 euro per horse.

We cannot give up on the horses because of the “costs” and our values. GummiBear, Rihanna, and Miracle have all worked so hard for us humans. For our pleasure and many times our ego. Isn’t it our job to give thanks back?

This summer we will start different new projects. Our horses play an important role in our “Horses Healing Children”,  and the Therapeutic Horse Program for Children with special needs. Keep an eye out for our announcement.

Also, we have several horses waiting to come to our Sanctuary. It’s amazing people all around Europe have heard about our fantastic transformation with the rescue horses.

They are getting all the treatments they need. We listen to the horse’s desires, and “special” compose their programs for the days. Not all rescue horses want to walk in a pasture all days.

In my experience, many of the horses have gone into their own “mind” to survive their daily work. Some are racehorses, polo horses, riding school horses, private horses, every horse that hasn’t been treated with respect can get a mental breakdown. When they come to us we let them rest and work only by observing them.

Healing and Animal Communication.

It only takes a few days until the horses open up. Trust has been built between us.

When the horse gets an ok from the veterinarian healthwise, we create what the horses want and need.

GummiBear 25 years-old, would like to eat the whole day 🙂 and he loves his walks and play ‘follow John” in the riding arena, be out in the green big pastures. Like an old man appreciating his retirement. He loves Rihanna, our other rescue power girl. He loves company. He doesn’t want to be “alone” among working horses anymore. So we let him have that (not overeating of course).

Miracle 28 years old (soon) loves to be part of the horse community, walking around together with me greeting them all, eating a lot of carrots, and be part of everything we do. Sometimes riding a little, but only slow pleasure riding looking at all the trees.  So we let him have that.

Rihanna, 20 years-old, our power Princess Warrior girl. What a fighter, and clear in what she wants (and not). Former successful jumper, then the success went dark. Tried as a Riding school horse, but to fast. Left in a box. The Lady at the place called and asked me to take her.

Rihanna is having an amazing mind of her own, and she clearly has shown us she doesn’t want to be on vacation. Rihanna loves to be ridden (carefully) at the jumping arena, to be among the other jumpers, to smell the atmosphere.

Now, can she still jump? Only “bunny” jumps, and we are not out after a jumping horse either. However, what makes her happy will make her into a content (happy) horse.

Surely, we make her be in the atmosphere of her past good memories, and we, we let her remember.

We let them all remember, what it ones felt to be appreciated.

That’s Amore!
