LITTLE RESCUE HONEY

1

This is honey! She had a rough start in life. Abandon and according to her wounds, locked up left to die.

Our wonderful AWL volunteer Nicky Mormino was out walking when she saw this poor little thing. Nicky didn’t hesitate to take her and rich her to our veterinarian Dr.Damiani. In this Campania area they estimate that the number of strays are over 75.000. And all animal lovers homes are filled with rescue animals.

Honey is around 6-7 months old and is now resting out and getting treated and a lot of love and food, everything she need in an American family home.

We will keep you updates.

Unlucky Lucky Bacio

The lady Rossella in the shelter grabs my arm in a tight grip! I look at her. Rossellas eyes are filled with tears. She opens a door and there, there a tinny puppy looks at me. Rossella had seen a woman kicking the poor little thing. Blood came out from his ears.

CEO AWL Mia Mattson snuggled with Bacio (kiss in Italian)

Our beautiful volunteer Megan Seibert held him and comforting him. She feel in love-

He is now being monitored by veterinarian and when he is a little bigger he will move to his family that are waiting for him with big hearts ❤️

Be Brave

0

Be Brave and do what makes you curious in life, is something I’m always telling people I meet in my life as a dog rescue person.

Do your homework.

When starting to volunteering, start from the bottom in the organisation. Clean the rooms/cages and be around the dogs. You learn so much by observing them.

This is a skill you can do anywhere in life. Observe people. Learn to read their signals and gestures.

If you met a scared dog (scared dogs and humans are what challenges me the most) be calm. He/She is like an angry survivor trying to sniff out where your weakness are. Same goes actually with humans. They feel they need to ‘explode’ and get more power, your energy.

Find out what makes them scared, you will find their weakness(es).

Even if you start to feel scared/uncomfortable yourself, pretend to be Brave and your brain will believe it. When your brain believes it, everyone else will feel it. You are acting Brave.

Learn to observe (not to judge) and put your energies into Brave mode, and the scared dog will follow you, and believe that you are a Brave Savior.

MANDY FOUND A HOME IN SWEDEN

0

We are very happy to tell you that Blind Mandy found a home up in Stockholm, Sweden.

Mandy was found running for her life blind through heavy traffic. One volunteer, Flavia saw something was wrong and picked her up. She has been fostered in Flavias home and next year we can drive her up to her new warm loving home.

It is Never to Late

0
Genni our volunteer together with her adopted Senior Dog, Luce went and gave a presentation on keeping animals safe and keeping children safe around animals to her daughters Girl Scout troop so they could earn a safety badge. ” I used my AWL yellow bag and talked about where Lucy came from. As always, Lucy is a super star. I brought my stethoscope and all of the children got to listen to Lucy’s heart beat and of course give her lots of love and attention. ” Genni heart emoticon
What an inspiration

Luce was a former hunting dog locked into an outside basement without electricity or heat for 10 years.
Her owner died and the rest of the family didn’t want Luce and drove her to the state shelter. We found a home for her here in Germany, the wonderful family Genni (USA)
She was full of cancer and AWL sponsored her surgeries. For over two years now has she been healthy and a big star among children….teaching them….it’s never to late, even if you are a Senior Dog!

That’s Amore!
