FANTASTIC DAY

0

Our AWL Handy Mandies –Eric & Darren–did fantastic work today, they built a washing platform so we don’t have to stay in the muddy mess cleaning the dogs in the future. Great work!

AWL –Keegan–Lindy–Mia–could today de-worm 60 dogs. We rolled Swedish meatballs that went down in a heartbeat. Thanks to all your donations we can keep many dogs healthy, and life will become easier for them.

Our great AWL Jackie was put in the puppy section. A mother was abandoned with a lot of puppies. Jackie made sure everything was clean and made their beds warm and nice with fluffy blankets. First mommy dog wanted to bite Jackie, but Jackie knows with some ground beef she had the Mommy’s heart and trust. Great work Jackie.

We hope we can give these sweeties a good start in life, to become strong and healthy.

The last 10 bags of dog food was carried in–the donation from the nice lady Mitra up in Rome. 220 kg donation…so many stomachs to fill. Thank you Mitra.

I saw that AWL Lindy came with a bag of dog food, thank you Lindy for today, you are great.
Thank you all for a fantastic day, building, cleaning, walking and medicating.

AWL – Shelter Cleaning Mission

2

Animals Without Limits mobilized volunteers from the US Navy and NATO communities here to help clean another area shelter and take care of the dogs there. This shelter was in much better condition than the “terrible shelter” in January, but had taken in many of those “terrible shelter” dogs, filling the shelter beyond designed capacity.

Thank you all great volunteers for today’s mission. You did all a truly wonderful job.
Kristine, Rosa with boyfriend, Keegan, Jackie with neighbor. Siron and Brown, great job!

Dareen did an excellent grooming job, cutting the fur.

Vania and her husband with friends (3), you did a tough job very well.
Cleaning and brushing the dogs. Washing their cages and houses. Many were emotionally touched by the dogs and we hope we gave them a sunny day. They sure gave us a lot of Amore.
The dog “Fiora” was quickly everyone’s favorite. Abandoned with her brother by their English owner when they moved to Hawaii (actually left them in their vacant apartment!!). She is around two years-old and so affectionate and well behaved. This dog truly deserves an owner to love forever!

Sarah and Bruce making lunch for the dogs.

In total, the team finished cleaning and taking care of approximately 70 dogs, and cleaning their cages (around 20). We plan to go out again in 3 weeks to finish the job, and hopefully power-wash the pens as well.

Another Cleaning Mission Ahead

0

“Animals Without Limits” is seeking volunteers on Saturday 4th April 2009 to assist at a local animal shelter. There are approximately 121 dogs at this shelter. Many of these dogs were taken from the “terrible shelter” in Castel Volturno (read from earlier blog). Their lives are much better, and the condition of this shelter is much superior to the one before, but still it needs some help, especially with so many dogs there now.

We will seek to clean the dogs and their kennels– where these dogs are staying–.
The goal continues to be to make these dogs as adoptable as possible, and having them living in a quality environment both helps in their presentation, and in their mental attitude.

“Happy”, clean, well cared for dogs are easier to adopt, and people are more able to picture the dog in their family if he/she is clean and well behaved.

Refreshments for the volunteers will be provided, and rides can be coordinated/provided as required. Time for wet Amore!
