It is a lovely feeling when you get that email “food donation — bring a big car” First, Michael and his friend picked it up and drove it to our hospice in Lago Patria. Two Pallets of mixed cat and dog food.
Todd drove down from Germany and stopped by the hospice to help load all the food again into the SUV. Steve was there to help and they even had to load some into his car. AWL donated mostly all the food to Adrianne’s shelter, where 400 dogs are sitting in cages. Some food went to people who feed dogs on the street. Steve fed some cats outside the base, too.
Then the following week we got a new message, “another pallet of dog food” Steve alone drove and filled his car and emptied it at the hospice. Anna and the co workers at the NEX helped Steve.
We are so thankful for these gift, it means a lot but for the four legged ones that are stuck in the cages for years; they will have a full stomach and freeze less on the cold nights.

For me it was very important to have Steve visiting this kind of shelters. They never come out on a walk, the horrible noise, just waiting…..

He did it again! Our super, wonderful, generous man from Los Angeles, Craig Kleber donated $1000 dollars for dog food to be delivered by AWL to Adrianna’s 400-dog shelter. We had to special order the food on base and thanks to Bill who ordered Purina, they (Purina) gave us $2 dollars off of each bag. Every one there heard about this great guy from LA, “What? Really?” “Send our regards,” said Italian workers at the Commissary. Many Americans were stunned, “you’ve got to be kidding — a thousand bucks?”

Trina took the truck and me the SUV and we drove this bright sunny day and picked it all up. I love my SUV, half a pallet was driven in by a forklift, the other 33 bags the guys and Trina brought in the Truck, and of course my Olivia helped. And me — I had the best job taking pictures!

My angel is a big fan she has heard his name many times. It is important for her to understand there are kind people too.

People came out to be sure… one guy from LA donated to a shelter here?

Thank you Mister Craig said Angel from the 400 dog shelter…yes her name is Angel (didn’t know until someone posted the name on FB)

At Adrianna’s shelter in their little storage laid maybe 60 bags, that’s all they had for 400 dogs. Adrianna was speechless and her love and thankfulness goes to you, Mr. Kleber, across the many miles. You have touched so many hearts here, you are our Saint! We don’t know how we are going to express our thankfulness. I hope you realize how many eyes you have lit up with a hope for human kindness. You give us hope Craig. Thank you!

In three days we had a food drive to 400 dogs at Adreanes shelter in Liccola area. I am amazed of all the people that helped us collecting all the bags of dog food and cans of wet food, and treats. Rita and Jacke Schneider, AFN Navy Base, Andreas Baum, Canada forces, Jessica Pigott, Mr. Manici and Mr. Palumbo, Mark Vasallo, Tammy Hampikian who did a great job collecting over 20 bags and 50 cans of wet food. You guys are Amore.

We say over and over that it is not about who does the most, its about working together to give the animals a better life. Simone and her friend from Voci nell Ombra were
were there and helped us unload the food. That’s Amore

My mission Worker Miss Olivia helped to unload the Truck

We had just before picked up our wonderful Supporters from USA, Megan and Tracey and they helped unload too, and afterwards we walked around and gave all the dogs treats. That’s tasty Amore!
